Customer Service Assistant (Commercial Waste Operations) – Permanent
Position Overview
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: 37 hours per week
Worker Type: Hybrid Worker
Salary: £25,583 to £26,403 per annum (pro rata for part-time, pay award pending)
Location: Humber Building, Eastcroft Depot, London Road, Nottingham, NG2 3AH

Responsible for:
- Serving as first point of contact for Commercial customers across Resident Services, handling enquiries, requests, and complaints primarily via telephone but also other channels.
- Proactively engaging with new and existing Commercial customers to support commercial growth initiatives.
- Delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced, multivariate support environment.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary contact for commercial waste-related inquiries, ensuring quality service delivery.
- Support commercial growth efforts through proactive customer outreach.
- Manage high-volume customer queries, demonstrations, and escalations collaboratively.
- Maintain accurate records and update IT systems.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Telephone-based customer service experience, excelling under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain policies and procedures clearly.
- Working knowledge of (or the ability to develop) commercial and waste services, including areas such as:
- Clinical waste
- Skip hire
- Collection processes
- Active listening, empathetic engagement, and conflict resolution skills.
- IT proficiency and record-keeping accuracy.
- Proven ability to manage difficult conversations professionally.
- A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), enabling culturally respectful service delivery.
