Closing date: 5 August 2026 Salary: Grade 15, ranging from £24,796 to £25,185 per annum.
Role Summary:
As a Commercial Support Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting our commercial services, providing administrative, operational and marketing support to the Commercial Team. Working with schools, education settings and other stakeholders, you'll help manage contracts, coordinate meetings, maintain records, support communications, and contribute to the promotion and development of our services.
What you'll do
We are working to improve the lives of children and young people here in Somerset – and you’ll be part of that. Your day to day will involve:
- Build positive relationships with schools, education settings and other stakeholders.
- Manage enquiries via phone and email, providing excellent customer service.
- Prepare reports, coordinate meetings, and produce agendas and minutes.
- Support commercial activities through contract administration and accurate record keeping.
- Create marketing materials and social media content to promote services.
- Help maintain and improve the Support Services for Education Website.

What we're looking for:
- Experience in an administrative, customer-focused and/or marketing role.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and digital marketing tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Additional Information
- Permanent. 37 Hours a week.
- The position will be based in County Hall, Taunton, however there is flexibility to work remotely and from other Council offices around the county.
- Interviews will take place w/c 17 August 2026
- 25 day’s annual leave (additional to bank holidays), and Flexi-time scheme.
