Company Description

Detectronic is a leading UK provider of wastewater network monitoring solutions, helping customers across the water sector prevent pollution through innovative technology and asset intelligence. As part of the Adler & Allan Group, we design, manufacture, install and support our own range of patented monitoring solutions, managing thousands of assets across the UK.

Job Description

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a high-impact leadership role with responsibility for the overall commercial performance of the business, including sales, business development, account management, contract management, and strategic growth initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop and deliver the commercial and sales strategy to drive sustainable growth and profitability.
  • Lead, motivate and develop high-performing commercial and sales teams in the UK and internationally.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities across existing and emerging markets.
  • Grow and strengthen relationships with key customers, partners and stakeholders.
  • Oversee major commercial contracts, tenders, bids and framework agreements.
  • Drive contract retention, renewals, service expansion and long-term customer value.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and ensure effective management of commercial risk.
  • Identify opportunities to diversify Detectronic's products and services into new sectors and markets.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer requirements to inform strategic decision making.
  • Work closely with colleagues across Operations, Finance, Product Development and the wider Adler & Allan Group to deliver business objectives.
  • Represent Detectronic at industry events, conferences and customer engagements.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in a senior commercial leadership role with a track record of delivering revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Strong experience leading sales, business development and account management functions.
  • Excellent commercial and financial acumen, including forecasting, pricing and profit management.
  • Experience managing complex contracts and strategic customer relationships.
  • Outstanding negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to turn market insight into commercial opportunities.
  • A collaborative and inspirational leader who can build and develop high-performing teams

Desirable

  • Experience within the water, utilities, environmental services, engineering or technology sectors.
  • Experience working across international markets.
  • Knowledge of public sector procurement, framework agreements and tendering processes.
  • Experience within a private equity-backed or growth-focused business.
