Commercial Accountant | London | Real Estate Investment

Up to £70,000 + bonus

Full time office role

We're recruiting for an ambitious Senior Accountant to join a high-performing European finance team within a leading global real estate investment business.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant who wants to move beyond traditional financial reporting and take full ownership of a portfolio of European real estate investments. You'll partner with senior stakeholders across Finance, Asset Management, Portfolio Management, Tax, Treasury, and Legal, while contributing to strategic decision-making in a fast-paced, international environment.

As a Senior Accountant, you'll take end-to-end responsibility for a portfolio of entities and assets, becoming the key finance contact for all accounting, reporting, and commercial matters. You'll gain exposure to complex real estate structures, international reporting, acquisitions, and business partnering, with regular interaction across Europe, India, and North America.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of a portfolio of entities and real estate assets.
  • Manage month-end close, financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and liquidity management.
  • Lead statutory accounts preparation, tax compliance, and external audits.
  • Deliver insightful financial analysis, monitoring performance against business plans.
  • Support cash planning and repatriation strategies.
  • Partner with Asset Management, Portfolio Management, and FP&A teams to provide commercial finance support.
  • Contribute to group consolidation and quarterly reporting for international stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships with external service providers across Europe.
  • Work closely with joint venture partners where applicable.
  • Support acquisitions, financing activities, and asset disposals.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across multiple business functions.
  • Travel occasionally within Europe.

You'll ideally have:

  • ACA (preferred) or ACCA
  • Approximately 1-3 years' post-qualified experience (PQE).
  • A strong academic background (2:1 or First-class degree preferred).
  • Excellent financial reporting and technical accounting knowledge.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • A proactive mindset with the confidence to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A continuous improvement mentality, with an interest in leveraging automation and AI to improve finance processes.
  • An additional European language would be advantageous, but is not essential.
