About the Role

We are currently looking to hire a Commis Chef to join our kitchen team. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in preparing and cooking food to high-quality standards, ensuring cleanliness, organisation, and team collaboration in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation:

    • Portion, chop, and store food and ingredients
    • Wash, peel, and prepare fresh fruits and vegetables
    • Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients accurately
  • Cooking & Food Service:

    • Prepare and cook food according to recipes and quality standards
    • Set up and maintain stations for cold food preparation
    • Operate kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, grills, fryers, and microwaves
    • Test food for doneness and ensure it meets quality and presentation standards
    • Serve food in correct portions on proper receptacles

  • Maintenance & Cleaning:

    • Wash and disinfect kitchen workspaces, tables, utensils, knives, and equipment
    • Check and record temperature settings for appliances and food storage
  • Compliance & Safety:

    • Follow all company, safety, and security policies
    • Report accidents, injuries, unsafe conditions, and maintenance needs
  • Teamwork:

    • Maintain professional appearance and adhere to company conduct standards
    • Protect proprietary information and company assets
    • Communicate clearly and liaise professionally with team members
    • Build positive working relationships to support team goals

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged standing, sitting, or walking throughout the workday
  • Lifting, pulling, bending, twisting, and reaching above or below the waist
  • Handling objects weighing ≤ 25 pounds without assistance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Work Experience: Minimum 1 year in a culinary or food preparation role
  • Certifications: None required
