As Commis Chef you will support the kitchen brigade in the preparation and delivery of food to 5-star standards within a luxury Cheshire hotel. As a Commis Chef, you will work closely under the guidance of senior chefs, playing an important role in maintaining kitchen standards, consistency, and service quality. This Commis Chef position offers excellent career progression, providing the opportunity to develop strong culinary skills and gain valuable experience within a high-performing luxury hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities
· Assist senior chefs with food preparation and mise en place
· Support service across all sections as directed
· Ensure all food is prepared and presented to the required standard
· Follow recipes, specifications, and instructions from senior chefs
Food Quality & Standards
· Maintain cleanliness and organisation within assigned work areas
· Ensure food quality, freshness, and correct storage at all times
· Minimise waste and follow portion control guidance
· Uphold kitchen standards and procedures

Learning & Development
· Learn and develop basic culinary skills and techniques
· Attend training sessions and actively seek feedback
· Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to learn
· Progress skills with the aim of developing within the kitchen brigade
Health, Safety & Compliance
· Comply with all food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards
· Maintain high standards of health & safety within the kitchen
· Report accidents, defects, or hazards in line with hotel procedures
· Attend mandatory health & safety and fire training
· Wear appropriate protective clothing as required
Skills & Experience Required
· Previous kitchen experience beneficial but not essential
· Passion for food and hospitality
· Positive attitude with a strong work ethic
· Ability to work well as part of a team
· Willingness to learn and develop in a professional kitchen environment
· Basic food hygiene knowledge preferred
