Chef Part Time – Contract Role (33.75 hours/week)
We are recruiting an ambitious Chef to help us create exceptional food experiences for Defence on a part-time basis.
As a Chef, your responsibility will be to prepare and serve outstanding meals that truly enhance the everyday experiences of our clients and customers, all while working within one of the UK’s market-leading food service companies. You will have opportunities to progress within a company that invests in its people, values individuality and fosters a culture of recognition and growth.
What the Role Involves
- Chief responsibilities include:
- Preparing delicious, high-quality food that delights clients and customers
- Overseeing and implementing menu changes
- Identifying opportunities to enhance our food services
- Actively listening to and implementing customer feedback to continuously improve food offerings
- Supporting with the creation of new menus and innovative concepts
- Representing Defence and maintaining a strong brand image
- Monitoring inventories to ensure kitchens remain well-stocked
- Overseeing kitchen hygiene and cleaning responsibilities
- Compliant adherence to Food Handling, Hygiene and Health & Safety regulations

Who We’re Looking For
Our ideal Chef will:
- Passionate about creating great-tasting food and delivering exceptional customer service
- Hold City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 qualification or NVQ equivalent in culinary practice
- Have experience supervising a culinary team in a similar role
- Possess a valid Food Hygiene Certificate
- Embrace a flexible approach to working patterns
