Chef (Commis) – JW Marriott Grosvenor House, Park Lane

A unique opportunity to join our award-winning JW Steakhouse team

In mid-April, our newly renovated JW Steakhouse at Grosvenor House welcomes you to an exclusive culinary experience. Set against the backdrop of Park Lane, this stunning establishment brings back timeless steakhouse favours alongside a new Bourbon Bar. With a 90-year legacy of luxury hospitality, we are seeking a dedicated Commis Chef—passionate about delivering exceptional service and culinary mastery—and who thrives in a team environment focused on delivering guest excellence.

About the Role

We only welcome applicants with the eligibility to live and work in the United Kingdom, and relevant documentation is required.

Do you consider yourself more than just a “foodie”? If you chase culinary excellence, appreciate attention to detail, and crave a supportive team where you can grow every day—this role is for you.

Our brand-new Commis position has no prior kitchen hospitality roles required, but entry-level passion is all we need. You’ll assist veteran chefs to help shape the dine-again legacy of this celebrated Park Lane destination. From precision prep to creating unforgettable dishes, your impact is everything—when you see a guest write glowing reviews about meals you contributed to, it’s worth it.

Key Responsibilities

As a Commis Chef at our JW Steakhouse, you’ll become part of a high-standard kitchen team, ensuring:

  • Fresh station setup and prep, following recipes, quality standards, presentation requirements, and health/safety protocols
  • Efficient execution of menu items, maintaining top-of-the-line culinary standards
  • Analysis and quality control—test foods for perfect portion sizes, the right garnishes, and optimal temperature
  • Safe and responsible operation of all kitchen equipment
  • Impeccable cleanliness and sanitation—storage, surfaces, and hygiene maintained at every moment

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
