The Role

Commis Chef – Our award-winning kitchen seeks a passionate and committed individual to join our team.

Working as part of the Kitchen Team, this role requires:

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of service and cleanliness

The Commis Chef plays a vital role in assisting the Chef de Partie and supporting daily kitchen operations to ensure our guests receive a positive and excellent dining experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with daily kitchen operations
  • Preparing vegetables, meats, and fish
  • Supporting the ordering process and ensuring sufficient stock levels
  • Guaranteeing all food served meets required standards
  • Ensuring strict compliance with food hygiene regulations
  • Promoting a high hygiene standard via cleaning schedules
  • Maintaining daily food and temperature logs
  • Assisting with monthly menu design using fresh ingredients

Requirements

Essentials

  • Previous hospitality or culinary experience
  • Level 2 Food Safety certificate
  • Strong food hygiene and quality standards knowledge
  • Ability to work efficiently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong Health & Safety awareness

Desirables

  • Experience with large volume food servings
  • Interpersonal and communication skills

Additional Information

Hours & Terms

  • 45 hours per week
  • Rotational schedule (5 days of the week, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays)
  • Flexible working—adaptable to business needs, including last-minute adjustments

Salary

£30,049.66
