Location & Basis

On-site in Knutsford, Cheshire, North-West England (not remote)


Your Purpose

You will work alongside a brigade of talented chefs to prepare exceptional quality dishes for colleagues at Fairmont Cheshire, The Mere. Your responsibilities include:

  • Preparing ingredients
  • Managing mise en place
  • Executing dishes during service to uphold the resort’s distinctive culinary standards
  • Supporting the kitchen team wherever assistance is needed
  • Ensuring smooth service and strong teamwork throughout each shift

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow recipes precisely and prepare mise en place to ensure consistency and high quality of cuisine for colleagues
  • Enhance our offering through fresh ideas and recipes
  • Comply with and uphold food hygiene, health, and safety policies for guest and team safety
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment through daily tasks such as:
    • Stock taking
    • Cleaning records
  • Actively participate in:
    • Kitchen briefings
    • Hotel meetings (as requested by leadership)
  • Report any identified problems to your leader and seek continuous improvement

Note: Due to our commitments for guest and team flexibility, you may be required to multi-skill and tackle varied tasks as needed.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • 1-2 years’ experience in the hospitality industry
  • Outstanding communication skills (written & verbal)
  • A confident and dynamic speaker, capable of interacting effectively across all staff levels
  • Proven organizational skills, including:
    • Ability to work independently and efficiently
    • Reliability in meeting deadlines with high-quality results
  • Skills applicable to the role, as outlined in Accountable Duties
