Commis Pastry Chef
As a Commis Pastry Chef, you will support the Pastry Chef and wider Kitchen team in preparing, producing, and presenting high-quality desserts, pastries, afternoon tea items, and baked goods for our restaurant, events, weddings, and conferences. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their pastry skills in a professional hotel environment while learning from an experienced and supportive team.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and production of desserts, cakes, pastries, breads, and afternoon tea items
- Ensure all food is prepared and presented to a consistently high standard
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and health and safety standards
- Support the Kitchen team during busy service periods
- Assist with stock rotation and storage in line with food safety procedures
- Help minimise food waste and contribute to kitchen efficiency
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Kitchen department
Requirements
- Has a genuine passion for pastry and baking
- Has previous experience in a professional kitchen environment (preferred but not essential)
- Has a passion for delivering exceptional food and guest experiences
- Has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in their work
- Is organised, reliable, and eager to learn and develop their culinary skills
- Can perform well under pressure whilst maintaining high standards
- Has a flexible approach and is willing to support all areas of the kitchen operation
- Is committed to food safety, quality, and continuous improvement
