Commissioning and Contract Officer – Provider Support Team
Suffolk County Council
Location: Community-based (Endeavour House, Ipswich IP1 2BX) Salary: £34,434 per annum (pro rata for part-time) Hours: 37 hours per week, flexible working options available Contract: Fixed-term or secondment (up to 24 months)
At Suffolk County Council, collaboration drives our mission. As a Commissioning and Contract Officer in the Provider Support Team, you’ll partners with colleagues, stakeholders, and communities to foster trust, innovate ideas, and deliver impactful care services across Suffolk.
About the Role
The Provider Support Team is pivotal in shaping Suffolk’s care sector. You’ll contribute to high-impact training initiatives such as:
- Dementia training
- Age Simulation Suit Training
- Record Keeping Workshops
- Safeguarding Awareness
Collaborating closely with Contract Officers, you’ll identify opportunities for sector growth, drive continuous improvement, and enhance outcomes for providers and service users.
Key Responsibilities

Engagement & Development
- Work with Contract Officers to uncover opportunities for growth within Suffolk’s care market.
- Provide learning reviews and actionable feedback to further service improvement.

Training & Workshops
- Design, deliver, and evaluate engaging, high-quality workshops on critical topics.
- Utilise expertise (e.g., Dementia/Age Simulation) and keep content current with best practice trends.

The Team
Our Provider Support Team is small (manager + two officers) but responsible for shaping Suffolk’s care sector future. Embedded in the Strategic Commissioning & Contract Management Service, we commit to influence and collaboration.
