Commissioning and Contract Officer
Location: Suffolk County Council (Community-based, Endeavour House, Ipswich IP1 2BX) Salary: £34,434 per annum (pro rata for part-time) Hours: 37 hours per week (flexible working options available) Contract: Fixed-term or secondment (up to 24 months)

As a Commissioning and Contract Officer in the Provider Support Team, you’ll collaborate with colleagues, partners, and communities to build trust, share ideas, and deliver impactful care services. Your Role and Responsibilities
The Provider Support Team plays a vital role in shaping Suffolk’s care market and deliverers transformative workshops to empower care providers. Your key responsibilities will include:

Developing and delivering workshops on topics such as:
- Dementia awareness
- Age simulation suit training
- Record keeping
- Safeguarding

Working closely with Contract Officers to:
- Identify and create development opportunities across the care sector
- Drive meaningful improvements for providers and service users
- Provide feedback and learning reviews

Collaborating externally by:
- Attending seminars and coproduction events to spot best practice and industry trends
- Supporting workshop development when gaps or opportunities are identified

Key personal skills required:
- Strong organisation, time management, and communication
- Ability to build professional relationships with key stakeholders

About the Team
The Provider Support Team is a small but influential group (manager + two officers) delivering high-impact work to shape the future of care in Suffolk. Based within the Strategic Commissioning and Contracting Service, the team ensures the care market evolves with innovative support.
