The Opportunity

Due to our successful appointment to a new framework, we are looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join our Infrastructure – Water South team, supporting wastewater projects for South West Water across Devon.

Working as part of our project delivery team, you will play a key role in planning, coordinating and supporting the commissioning of mechanical, electrical and process systems, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and ready for successful handover to our client. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team delivering essential water infrastructure that benefits local communities.

Key Duties

  • Support the planning, preparation and delivery of commissioning activities, including commissioning procedures, plans and handover documentation.
  • Review designs, specifications and subcontractor documentation to identify commissioning risks and ensure installations are ready for testing and handover.
  • Work closely with project teams, subcontractors and client representatives, attending commissioning meetings and coordinating site activities.
  • Monitor commissioning progress, produce regular reports, organise client witnessing, sampling and training, and assist with compiling O&M manuals.
  • Support the resolution of commissioning and snagging issues through project completion and the defects liability period.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
