A Snapshot of Your Day
In our HVDC Communication Team, we test and verify network infrastructures, communication interfaces, and HMI concepts for our innovative HVDC projects in our test center. During the commissioning of HVDC systems worldwide, we ensure flawless functionality and quality. Our diverse and multinational teams work closely with project management, system engineering, and component engineering to provide customized solutions based on the latest innovations in HVDC technology.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Responsible for the technically flawless, on-time, and economical execution of HVDC system commissioning at construction sites worldwide, with a focus on data networks and individual components of network communication at the SCADA level
- Accountability for commissioning, supporting, and managing the predominantly TCP/IP-based network infrastructure, the HMI concept, and any project-specific adaptations
- Responsibility for time synchronization and for local and remote signal converters, ensuring reliable interfaces with all other involved signal providers
- Providing support to other commissioning teams, customers, and external partners in troubleshooting and testing communication interfaces
- Supporting IBS management in quality, risk, and claim management
- Contributing to improvement programs, including Lean initiatives, reviews, and lessons learned
What you bring:
- A completed degree in electrical engineering, energy technology, or a comparable qualification, plus the ability to read circuit diagrams and work with electrical systems and measuring instruments
- Experience in network administration (switches, routers), basic HMI, and PC administration including hardware and virtualization, along with foundational knowledge of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, RADIUS), network security, and monitoring
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical information clearly and precisely
- Willingness to travel worldwide for business trips and take on long-term site assignments in Germany or abroad, including optional offshore deployments (> 6 months)
- A collaborative, proactive working style with strong decision-making abilities and positive conflict-management skills; skilled electrician qualification is a plus
