Your new company
A leading global life sciences organisation is investing heavily in a brand-new R&D and laboratory campus and is looking to appoint an experienced Project / Commissioning Engineer to support the delivery of multiple facilities.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary project team, you will play a key role in ensuring the laboratory and building infrastructure is ready for occupation, coordinating technical activities, resolving project issues and supporting the successful handover of the facility to end users.
Your new role
This is a client-side role focused on project delivery, coordination and operational readiness rather than hands-on commissioning.
Working closely with contractors, consultants, vendors and laboratory stakeholders, you will help drive the delivery of several new laboratory and research buildings, ensuring systems, facilities and supporting infrastructure are ready for occupation and operational use.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating activities across HVAC, building services, utilities, laboratory infrastructure and supporting facility systems.
- Supporting technical reviews, design queries and RFIs.
- Driving project actions and removing blockers to maintain programme delivery.
- Coordinating contractors, vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Supporting pre-start-up safety reviews (PSSR) and operational readiness activities.
- Managing punch list items, defects and technical issues through to closure.
- Assisting with handover planning and ensuring facilities are ready for occupation.
- Providing project updates and communicating progress to key stakeholders.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
