Commissioning Home Manager | Brentwood Care Home – Brentwood, Essex
Up to £100,000 per annum (dependent on experience) | Up to 40% annual bonus | Private Medical Insurance
We’re looking for a Commissioning Home Manager to lead the opening of a brand-new, luxury care home in Brentwood, Essex.
About the Role
Brentwood Care Home is a new luxury 80-bed purpose-built service that is due for completion in November 2026, delivering high-end residential, nursing and dementia care within an elevated hospitality-led environment.
Positioned in one of Essex’s most desirable locations, this home is designed to set a new benchmark for luxury care in the local area. The focus is clear: exceptional experience for residents, strong private fee performance and a reputation built on quality from day one.

We are looking for someone with commissioning experience or strong operational leadership in a high-quality care environments to ensure the home is set up for long-term success.
Contract
- Salary up to £100,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
- Up to 40% annual bonus (KPI linked)
- Private Medical Insurance

- 5.6 weeks annual leave
What will the Commissioning Home Manager be doing from day one?
- Driving occupancy from zero and building strong local referral routes
- Building your own team and leading the recruitment strategy from the outset, ensuring minimal reliance on agency staff
- Setting up operational systems, policies, governance and compliance processes
- Ensuring the home is fully prepared for CQC registration and inspection readiness
- Managing budgets, occupancy targets and P&L performance in line with business expectations
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and all regulatory requirements
- Developing strong relationships with local authorities, NHS partners and community stakeholders
- Leading marketing activity to establish the reputation of the home locally

Key Skills & Experience
- Registered Home Manager or strong senior management experience within elderly care
- Proven track record of working in a care home environment
- Commissioning experience is advantageous but not essential
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of occupancy and budgets
- Good working knowledge of CQC and Local Authority requirements
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and develop teams
- Confident, hands-on operator who can take ownership from day one
