Commissioning Manager – Severn Trent Framework Team (Wanlip)
Location: Wanlip
Hours: 45 hours per week (flexible discussions welcomed when speaking with us)
Preamble: We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship for this role.
About the Role
As a Commissioning Manager with our Severn Trent Framework team, you will:
- Oversee and manage the commissioning process to ensure building systems and equipment meet project design specifications and client requirements.
- Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to facilitate a smooth transition from construction to operational use, ensuring efficient, compliant, and effective system performance.
Give your expertise pride of place with Kier’s water business, where every project helps deliver essential services to communities across the country.
Key Responsibilities
Your day-to-day focus will include:
- Overseeing and coordinating the commissioning process to ensure systems, equipment, and installations function as specified in project documents.
- Developing, implementing, and reviewing commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures in alignment with project teams.
- Conducting inspections, functional testing, and performance verification of:
- Mechanical (HVAC, refrigeration)
- Electrical
- Plumbing and building services systems.
- Identifying and resolving technical issues during commissioning by liaising with engineers, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Ensuring full compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards throughout the process.

Working alongside the Severn Trent Regional Team, you’ll ensure our projects deliver exceptional commissioning outcomes at every stage.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you:
- Have proven experience in commissioning processes within the construction or infrastructure industries, including knowledge of:
- Relevant compliance standards (e.g., compliance, safety, and quality frameworks).
- Bring a strong understanding of MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) systems and their interdependencies.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
- Are experienced in developing, implementing, and refining commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures.
- Show a thorough grasp of health, safety, and safety protocols, with the ability to enforce compliance rigorously.
