Commodity Trader

We invite applications for the position of Commodities Trader, to be based at the company's offices in Westminster, London. This is a senior appointment encompassing the energy, agricultural and soft commodities sectors, and is suited to an accomplished physical commodities trader capable of originating and executing transactions, cultivating durable commercial relationships, and representing the company at the most senior levels. The successful candidate will assume responsibility for the identification and development of trading opportunities, the negotiation and structuring of contracts, and the management of transactions from origination through to delivery, exercising throughout the discretion and diligence the position requires. Principal Responsibilities Originate, negotiate and execute physical commodity transactions across the energy, agricultural and soft commodities markets. Monitor and interpret the relevant global indices, price benchmarks and market movements, informing trading decisions and the management of commercial exposure. lead contractual negotiations and to structure transactions in a manner consistent with the company's commercial objectives and risk parameters. Establish and maintain relationships with counterparties, corporate leadership, family offices, and diplomatic and governmental representatives. Prepare and present financial models, transaction analyses and formal presentations to internal and external stakeholders. ·Ensure that all transactions are conducted in accordance with the applicable technical standards and maritime trade and regulatory obligations.

Candidate Requirements Demonstrable experience in physical commodities trading, preferably extending across more than one of the energy, agricultural and soft commodities sectors. A thorough command of the technical, maritime and regulatory framework governing physical trade, including the attendant shipping and logistics considerations. An established record of originating transactions of significant value and of concluding complex negotiations. Exceptional skills in negotiation, communication and relationship management, together with the discretion and assurance necessary to engage senior and high-profile counterparties. Proficiency in financial modelling and the capacity to lead meetings and presentations with authority and credibility. A high-achieving and self-directed professional of sound commercial judgement, bringing both credibility and an established professional network.
