Communal Cleaner – Homes FM Cleaning Team
Location: Apartment Blocks, Welwyn Garden City (AL7)
Pinnacle Group is looking for a Communal Cleaner to provide and maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within our communities. You will be joining our Homes Division, a market-leading provider of housing, neighbourhood, and workplace services with over 30 years of experience.

About the Role
As a Communal Cleaner, you will work within the Homes FM Cleaning Team, contributing to the clean, safe, and healthy environment for staff, residents, and visitors. We are offering what begins as a Temporary to Permanent (37.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm) role, with an immediate start.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide cleaning and maintenance of communal areas, including staircases, corridors, and hallways.
- Sanitise high-touch surfaces, such as door handles, push plates, window sills, light switches, and sinks to prevent the spread of germs and illness.
- Manage waste disposal, collecting, transporting, and storing waste in both internal and external areas while ensuring correct sorting via colour-coded processes.
- Ensure safe manual handling when moving furniture, cleaning equipment, or hazardous waste.
- Carry out cleanliness inspections and follow-up to address residue or contamination.

Minimum Essential Requirements
To excel in this role, the successful applicant will need:
- A valid UK driving license (essential for attendance and delivery of duties).
- Sufficient physical fitness to carry out repetitive, manual cleaning tasks.
- Proficiency in manual handling to safely lift and move household or facility equipment.
- Knowledge of and adherence to COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) and Health & Safety regulations.
- Ability to follow strict colour-coded cleaning protocols.
- Basic competency with a range of cleaning equipment (mops, vacuum cleaners, hoovers, microfibre cloths, etc.).
