Communication Support Worker TA - Beaucroft School

Communication Support Worker (CSW) Teaching Assistant

British Sign Language (BSL) Qualified Practitioner (Level 3 or above) Required

About the Role

We are seeking a Communication Support Worker (CSW) Teaching Assistant to join our team, on a unique opportunity to support a profoundly Deaf child with additional medical and physiotherapy needs. Your role will focus on enabling full participation in learning and school life through voiced BSL, advancing Deaf awareness, and contributing to a Deaf-friendly environment.

This position is full-time (32.5 hours per week), term-time only, with working hours between 8:45am and 3:45pm(lunch included). It is ideal for a passionate BSL professional committed to providing both individualised child support and whole-school impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent a Communication Support Worker (CSW) role specific to Deaf children, providing interactive BSL support to a SEN child who is profoundly Deaf.
  • Facilitate the child’s access to the curriculum through voiced BSL, ensuring full participation in learning and school life activities.
  • Promote Deaf awareness within the child’s classroom and across school, contributing to a Deaf-friendly culture.
  • Collaborate with staff to adapt lesson delivery for inclusive, accessible learning—particularly via signed British Sign Language (BSL).
  • Assist in monitoring and refining the child’s progress in line with educational, medical and developmental goals.
  • Provide to-and-fro translation between Deaf and hearing communication environments with fluency.
  • Background support for medical/physiotherapy related needs, where relevant to promoting pupil participation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
