Salary: £39,027 – £44,463 per annum (pro rata - only if part-time)

Grade: E

Contract Type: Fixed Term (2 Years)

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

About the Role

Good communication can help people make informed choices, improve their wellbeing and access the support they need, and that's where you come in. We're looking for a Communications and Engagement Officer (Public Health) who can turn important health messages into clear, engaging content that people want to read, watch and act on.

Based in our Communications Team and working closely with Public Health colleagues, you'll deliver campaigns and engagement activity that support healthier lifestyles, reduce health inequalities and encourage residents to get involved in issues that matter to them. Whether it's creating great content, supporting consultations, using insight to reach different audiences or helping partners tell a shared story, you'll play a key role in bringing Public Health priorities to life.

What We’re Looking For

We're looking for someone who understands the difference good communication can make. You will be a confident communicator who can turn complex information into clear, engaging content that speaks to different audiences.

You will have experience supporting communications and engagement activity and be comfortable working across a range of channels. Whether you are creating content, helping to deliver a campaign or supporting a consultation, you will bring creativity, good judgement and a focus on what matters to your audience.

You will enjoy building relationships and working with colleagues, partners and communities to achieve shared goals. You'll be organised, able to manage competing priorities and confident using insight to help shape communications and improve results.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
