Communications and Marketing Officer
Location: York or Burgess Hill (Hybrid)
Salary: Up to £31,500 per annum
Hours: 35 per week

Main Purpose
Working with the Communications and Marketing Manager to deliver high quality marketing activity to engage multiple stakeholders in specified areas of the organisation's work. You will support delivery of all day-to-day marketing and communications activities, including multichannel campaigns, social media management, and content creation.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Marketing
- Work on content development, ensuring we create engaging content for relevant online and offline channels.
- Provide a first point of contact for colleagues, and others, requiring marketing support, analysing need and responding appropriately.
- Work with the Communications and Marketing Manager to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing activity, setting up systems and reporting regularly.
- Lead and/or assist on the creation and editing of photo and video shoots as required.
- Manage an online photo library including consent forms.
- Utilise relevant software e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva to develop marketing materials including literature, promotional items and ‘tool-kits’.
- Act as a brand guardian, ensuring that the new brand is delivered in a creative way which cuts through to different audiences.

- Work with internal colleagues and stakeholders, develop a bank of stories of our staff and the people supported so we can tell the story of life after brain injury.
Digital
- Work to the organisation's digital marketing strategies, including social media advertising, email marketing, display ads, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).
- Support the building and maintaining Brainkind’s brand’s presence across multiple social media channels.
- Measuring key performance metrics, including website traffic, audience engagement, service quotas, bounce rate and ad spend return on investment.
General
- Ensure consistency in brand messaging and visual identity across all marketing materials and channels.
- Take on projects and assignments, as appropriate.
- Evaluate all activity, using analytical approaches and data to suggest improvements.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties that fall within the role of the Communications and Marketing Officer.
- Undertake any reasonable travelling requirements in order to fulfil the tasks and responsibilities of the role.
- Attend and participate in regular team and other meetings, both internal and external.
About You
- Experience working within, or closely alongside, a multi-disciplinary communications and marketing team, with an understanding of how marketing, PR, digital and media functions operate (desirable).
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate and engaging copy for a range of outputs including reports, newsletters and external communications.
- Experience working in a busy environment, managing diaries, correspondence and telephone enquiries, and handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Proven organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads, manage competing demands and meet deadlines.
- Experience organising events (up to 100 attendees), including coordination with internal teams and external partners or agencies.
- Experience working with external organisations, with strong influencing and negotiation skills to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels across a complex and geographically dispersed organisation.
- Experience of working within the charity, voluntary or public sector, and/or an understanding of issues affecting people with disabilities, their families and carers (desirable).
