Location: Hybrid between home and our London office (1 day per week) Reports to: Brand & Communications Manager Salary: £40,000 (pro-rata) plus excellent benefits Closing Date: 24th July 2026
Please note, this role is being offered as a fixed-term contract from September 2026 - March 2027
About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Communications and Social Media Lead to support CMI’s social media and communications activity across B2B and B2C audiences.
Working closely with the Brand and Communications Manager, you will help deliver clear, engaging content across internal and external channels. You will manage day-to-day marketing communications, support campaigns, events and work with stakeholders across the organisation.
This role would suit someone who is highly organised, confident writing for different audiences, comfortable managing multiple priorities and able to work well in a fast-paced marketing environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging internal and external communications tailored for B2B and B2C audiences, maintaining clear and consistent messaging aligned with brand tone.
- Support campaigns, product launches, and organisational updates.
- Optimise communications processes, templates, and workflows.
- Manage daily activity across all CMI social media channels.
- Schedule and publish content matching campaign and marketing plans.
- Write clear copy adapted to diverse platforms and target audiences.
- Oversee community management, responding to comments and user messages.
- Produce social assets, including images and short-form videos.
- Develop creative content ideas to boost overall reach and engagement.
- Track social performance, reporting on analytics, metrics, and trends.
- Cover key events by capturing live content and vox pops (requires occasional evening work).
This hands-on delivery role requires directly writing, scheduling, and generating content.

Required Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrable experience in a communications and/or social media role
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to adapt tone and style
- Experience managing social media channels, including community management
- Confident creating content (copy, visuals, and basic video editing)
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working across teams
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Good understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practice
- Experience in both internal and external communications is highly desirable
