This is a unique opportunity for an experienced communications professional to support our Public Sector client, shaping engagement and communications activity for a high-profile programme that will have a lasting impact across Wales.

Your new role

As Communications Lead, you will be responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive communications campaign and stakeholder engagement plan that supports the successful rollout of the programme.

  • Working closely with programme leadership and project stakeholders, you will design a credible communications strategy, present recommendations to senior decision-makers, and secure buy-in for campaign activity.
  • You will create compelling, accessible and audience-focused content, ensuring key information reaches stakeholders through the most appropriate channels and formats.
  • The role will take ownership of content quality and consistency, reviewing communications materials and ensuring messaging remains aligned across multiple stakeholder groups.

This position offers the opportunity to influence communications at a strategic level while contributing directly to the successful delivery of a nationally significant programme.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced communications or stakeholder engagement professional with a proven track record of developing and delivering effective communications campaigns within the Public Sector landscape in Wales.

You will demonstrate:

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to negotiate, influence and build productive relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience engaging diverse audiences across organisational and external stakeholder groups.
  • The ability to develop stakeholder maps and communications plans that successfully influence perceptions and support programme objectives.
  • Experience creating high-quality, engaging and consistent communications content.
  • A strong understanding of audience engagement and adapting messages to meet the needs of different stakeholder groups.
  • Proven experience designing communications campaigns and rollout plans aligned to project objectives.
  • An understanding of Welsh Language requirements and the importance of ensuring communications are accessible and compliant.

What you'll get in return

This role is offered on a 3-month temporary assignment.

  • £350 - £400 Per Day / Outside IR35
  • Cardiff based, flexible / hybrid working
