What Is the Opportunity?
You will be an integral member of the team building a strong internal and external communication brand for RBC in Europe, including:
- Execution and delivery of communication strategies and tactics.
- Providing thoughtful and strategic communications in support of RBC’s capital markets business in the region.
- Contributing meaningfully to RBC’s high-performing culture, its purpose, and values while protecting and enhancing RBC’s global reputation.
This is a permanent, full-time role requiring 4 days in the 100 Bishopsgate, London office.
What Will You Do?
Core Responsibilities

Plan and deliver:
- Leadership events
- Roundtables
- Town hall content
- Major projects and initiatives
- Communication activities across the team

Deliver compelling, impactful messaging for internal consumption, promoting RBC’s brand with the broader internal platform.

Contribute to the success and overall goals of:
- RBC Corporate Communications
- The Brand, Marketing, Communications and Citizenship (BMCC) group

Proactively build connections with BMCC peers in other regions and businesses to:
- Leverage best practices
Capital Markets-Specific Duties
- Provide strategic and tactical communications support for Global Markets (notably Equity Research) in the region:
- Implement internal promotion and recognition of key business successes and milestones.
- Execute successful media plans to support specific:
- Sector coverage
- Product research coverage outreach with key media targets.
- Act as a media contact and manage media relationships.
- Drive regular metrics and reporting to:
- Measure
- Analyse
- Report on effectiveness of communications initiatives
- As a standing member of the global internal communications editorial team:
- Identify deeper story angles to amplify RBC’s storytelling agenda.
- Support internal activities related to:
- Communicating Europe strategy (e.g., employee webinars, town halls, and other year-long activities).
- Serve as the comms lead for:
- A number of Culture & Community initiatives
- Employee Resource Groups
- Certain global CSR and business campaigns within Capital Markets
- Contribute to the management of internal communications channels, including:
- The Download
- Screen content strategy
- CMWeb
- Foster successful collaboration with colleagues across London corporate communications.

What Do You Need to Succeed?
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- Excellent written English and outstanding attention to detail.
- Proactive, tactical practitioner with:
- Knowledge of communication principles and best practices.
- Strong experience in:
- Internal communications
- Social media
- Design
- Media relations
- Experience in:
- Measuring & reporting on the effectiveness of communication strategies.
- Internal events management experience (a plus).
- High level of personal integrity/ability to instil trust.
- Ability to:
- Meet consistently high standards of quality.
- Handle diverse projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong commitment to excellence and ability to:
- Calm and rational thinking while working under pressure.
