Communications Manager – Consumer Media & Influencer Engagement
Corporate Affairs
Location: Gatwick, United Kingdom
About the Role
Shape the stories that change how the UK thinks about health. At a pivotal moment when public conversations around chronic diseases are more prominent than ever, you will lead Novo Nordisk’s consumer media and influencer engagement, ensuring our narratives resonate creatively, compliantly, and culturally.
As the Communications Manager – Consumer Media & Influencer Engagement, you’ll steer our public storytelling—translating intricate scientific insights into compelling, emotionally relevant narratives while nurturing vital media partnerships and influencer programs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a proactive consumer and lifestyle media strategy, aligning with UK communications priorities, while cultivating strong relationships with journalists, editors, and key media stakeholders.
- Identify, refine, and secure high-impact stories that simplify complex medical and disease issues into culturally engaging narratives, maintaining an active pipeline of potential features and coverage opportunities.
- Design and lead influencer and creator engagement programs, including selection, vetting, management, and evaluation, ensuring full compliance with the ABPI Code of Practice and internal guidelines.
- Build a robust library of media-ready assets, case studies, and spokesperson materials, then share best practices to elevate the broader team’s media and influencer capabilities.
- Monitoring media, cultural, and social trends to identify opportunities, mitigate reputational risks, and inform campaign planning with data-driven insights.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, medical, legal, and regulatory teams to create integrated, earned-first campaigns that resonate with public audiences.
- Contribute to the weekly media rota, tracking, and responding to media inquiries and coverage.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
