About the Role

This role sits within our Global Trust & Safety and Technology Communications team and will work closely with cross-functional Product, Trust and Safety, Legal, Public Policy teams, as well as global communications colleagues across all regions.

We're looking for an experienced communications professional to join our Global Trust & Safety and Technology Communications team. In this role, you’ll play a leading role in communicating how TikTok protects its community—particularly teenagers—by complying with global regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Create blog posts, media pitches, and launch materials to amplify global announcements and initiatives, working closely with regional teams to adapt these announcements to their markets.
  • Draft materials that help empower our global communications colleagues, such as fact sheets and executive bios.
  • Monitor and analyse the global regulatory landscape to provide actionable insights that protect and enhance TikTok’s reputation.
  • Work collaboratively with Product, Trust and Safety, Legal, Public Policy, and other teams, providing communications counsel and support, ensuring message accuracy and consistency.
  • Train and advise spokespeople in preparation for media interviews, press conferences, and presentations.
  • Travel as needed to support the team and be willing to work flexible hours when necessary.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in external communications.
  • Understanding of global regulatory efforts that focus on social media and teens/youth.
  • Experience working in Public Affairs or Policy Communications.
  • Proven track record of writing to a high standard.
  • Experience working for an agency and in-house at a global company.
  • Press office or crisis communications experience.

  • Ability to work well under ambiguity and be self-motivated.
  • Ability to respond to, and collaborate in, various situations with empathy and a people-first mindset.
  • Passion for the technology and entertainment sectors.
  • Ability to combine strategic thinking with practical execution skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, flexible environment and able to adapt quickly to change.
