Role Objective
To support the delivery of clear, consistent and engaging communications across all CMJ channels, ensuring strong promotion of events, initiatives and membership value.
The Communications Officer will play a key role in enhancing member engagement and brand visibility, contributing to the growth of the CMJ through effective storytelling, campaign execution and stakeholder communication.
Key Responsibilities
Communications & Content Delivery
- Develop and deliver communications across digital, social, email, and print channels to promote CMJ activity.
- Create, edit, and distribute high-quality content including newsletters, press releases, website updates, and social media posts.
- Ensure all communications are aligned with CMJ brand guidelines, tone of voice, and strategic messaging.

- Support the planning and execution of integrated communication campaigns across events, membership and commercial initiatives.
- Manage and maintain communication channels, ensuring content is timely, relevant and engaging.
- Work closely with Marketing and Membership teams to align messaging with wider business objectives.
Media & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with industry press, media partners, and key stakeholders.
- Support media outreach, press coverage, and PR opportunities to raise the profile of the CMJ.
- Act as a key point of contact for communications-related enquiries.
Events Support
- Support the delivery of communications for CMJ trade shows, events and campaigns.
- Assist with the creation of event collateral and on-site messaging.
- Ensure a consistent and professional communications presence across all events.
Performance & Insight
- Monitor and report on communications performance, including media coverage, campaign effectiveness and social engagement.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve reach, engagement and impact.
- Maintain accurate records of communications activity and outputs.
Key Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Degree or equivalent experience in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field.
- Previous experience in a communications role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Experience managing social media platforms, email campaigns and content systems.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Confident stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.

- Understanding of PR and media relations.

Salary
£30-35k dependent on experience.
