Part-time Communications Officer

The Poetry Translation Centre is recruiting for a part-time Communications Officer to run our day-to-day social media outreach and communications to support our ongoing programme of events, workshops, publications, prizes, and fundraising initiatives. The Communications Officer will also build the PTC’s social media presence, drawing on our archive of translated poetry, pictures, video, and audio files to create posts that support the PTC’s mission to bring translated poetry and multilingual creativity to mainstream audiences in the UK.

The PTC has an ongoing presence on Facebook, BlueSky, Instagram, and LinkedIn. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Programmes to populate the PTC’s social media accounts with enticing branded content, working from an overall communication strategy devised by the PTC’s director and the Head of Programmes, while responding to requests and opportunities as they arise.

The role will involve writing posts for several social media platforms, honing the messaging of each post to engage the PTC’s different audiences, as well as creating branded posts for each platform, working from PTC design templates and established style guides. The role holder will monitor the PTC’s social media feeds and engage positively with audiences and partner organisations online. They will also be responsible for gathering relevant engagement data from each social media platform and compiling it to assist with evaluation and reporting.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
