Communications & Engagement Officer
West Midlands | Hybrid Working
Circa £35,000
Full Time or Part Time considered | Permanent
Are you a confident communicator who enjoys building relationships, engaging with stakeholders and bringing complex topics to life through clear, impactful communication?
We're recruiting a Communications & Engagement Officer to join a well-established regional organisation with a strong presence across the West Midlands.
This is not a role for someone who wants to sit behind a desk all day. We're looking for someone who can get out into the community, attend events, build relationships and become a visible ambassador for the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop engaging communications across multiple channels
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and partners
- Attend meetings, events and networking activities
- Research and analyse key issues affecting stakeholders
- Produce articles, reports, briefings and thought leadership content
- Translate complex policy, regulatory and technical information into clear, accessible messages
- Gather insight and feedback to help shape future initiatives
- Represent the organisation professionally at external events and forums

About You
You may have a background in communications, stakeholder engagement, public affairs, membership organisations, research or a similar environment.
You'll have:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence engaging with people at all levels
- Strong relationship-building abilities
- The ability to simplify complex information for different audiences
- A proactive, curious and commercially aware mindset
- A genuine interest in regional business, economic development and current affairs
