We're looking for an enthusiastic and creative Internal Communications & Engagement Specialist to help bring our internal communications to life through compelling content, engaging campaigns and meaningful colleague engagement activity.
This is a full-time permanent, national role with hybrid working. You will be required to work from our head office at least once a week, so our ideal candidate will be based within an hour's commute of Widnes, Cheshire.

You'll play a key role in delivering engaging communications and colleague experience activity across the charity, helping colleagues stay informed, connected and inspired. From creating content and managing communication channels to supporting engagement campaigns and colleague listening activities, no two days will be the same.

Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you'll create compelling stories, coordinate campaigns and support the delivery of colleague communications that bring our values, culture and strategy to life.
You'll also help ensure colleague voices are heard, supporting engagement surveys, colleague forums, events and initiatives that strengthen culture and improve colleague experience.
What You'll Be Doing
- Delivering engaging content across a range of internal communication channels, including the intranet, Viva Engage, email communications and You First magazine
- Producing key colleague communications including Weekly News Roundup, Manager's Digest, newsletters, webinars and other regular communications
- Creating clear, engaging and accessible content that helps colleagues understand organisational priorities and key updates
- Supporting the delivery of colleague engagement campaigns, wellbeing initiatives, awareness days and culture-building activities
- Coordinating colleague voice activity, including engagement surveys, pulse surveys, focus groups and colleague feedback initiatives
- Supporting the organisation's colleague forum and helping ensure insight and feedback are translated into action
- Developing colleague stories, case studies and impact content that showcase the difference our colleagues make every day
- Supporting communication activity relating to organisational projects, programmes and change initiatives
- Managing and maintaining internal communication channels and the communications calendar
- Monitoring channel performance and engagement metrics to help improve communications effectiveness
- Working with internal stakeholders and the Graphic Design Specialist to develop engaging communications and campaigns
- Acting as an ambassador for our brand, ensuring communications are professional, engaging and consistent
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a creative, organised and enthusiastic communications professional who loves storytelling and creating great colleague experiences.
You'll Bring
- Experience working in a communications, marketing, engagement or employee experience role
- Experience creating engaging content across multiple communication channels
- Strong copywriting, editing and storytelling skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience planning and delivering communications campaigns or projects
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Confidence building relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- The ability to adapt messages for different audiences
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
- An interest in colleague engagement, communications trends and best practice
- Experience using Microsoft Office and communications tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
- A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach
