Location: Ankeny, IA
Job Description
As a Communications Specialist for John Deere Des Moines Works located in Ankeny, IA, you will research, write, and edit communication materials for use in various media to support the overall communication strategies of the Business Unit. In addition, you will:
- Plan, edit, and manage publications or other communication products at the Business Unit level.
- Provide communications support to departments, groups, and managers to assist in identifying communication needs and messages, and to develop appropriate communication plans that support the Enterprise, Business Unit, and Department objectives.
- Plan and manage communication activities at the Business Unit level.
- Coordinate and support employee engagement activities and campaigns.
- Ensure communications are consistent with Enterprise brand standards, communication guidelines, and approved messaging.

What Skills You Need
- 1+ years of experience working in communications
- 1+ years of experience in graphic design using Adobe Creative Cloud programs
- 1+ years of experience in video editing using Adobe Rush, Premiere Pro, or other video editing programs
- 1+ years of experience using Office 365 Suite of products
- Experience with the communication planning process and measurement techniques
- Experience with communication theories, especially employee/internal communications
- Effective writing skills and experience, including grammatical usage, persuasive copy, and style
- Knowledge of various communication disciplines including design, editing, photography, audio visual, web, journalism, marketing, and advertising
- Strong interpersonal and consulting skills with the ability to work effectively across the organization

What Makes You Stand Out
- 1+ years of project management experience including plan development, budget management, delivery, and deployment
- Experience in researching and finding solutions to audio and visual technical challenges that may arise when conducting virtual meetings for employees
- Eager to learn new tools and technologies to be innovative with usage of new techniques to engage employees
- 1+ years of experience in design of SharePoint sites
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in a Marketing, Communications, or Journalism discipline
