Communications Systems Engineer
Systems Engineer – Communications
Location: Bristol
Salary: Circa £60,000 (depending on experience) Working Model: Hybrid – 2 to 3 days per week on-site
About the Role
An excellent opportunity has become available for a Systems Engineer to join a leading defence engineering organisation, specialising in developing next-generation communications capabilities for highly advanced defence programmes.
You’ll work as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, helping to design and deliver complex communication systems that support mission-critical applications. This role offers exposure to technically challenging projects, working alongside specialists across systems, software, and hardware engineering while contributing throughout the system development lifecycle.

- Battlefield communications technologies
- Secure communications between complex defence platforms
- Systems integration and technical stakeholder engagement
Responsibilities & Requirements
We’re seeking engineers with the following qualifications and skills:
Requirements: ✔
- A degree in Engineering (or equivalent industry experience)
- Proven Systems Engineering experience
- Direct experience in network communications
- The ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams and solve complex technical challenges
- Bonus: Previous experience in:
- Leading technical work packages
- Managing engineering activities
- Working directly with clients or suppliers
