Community Dental Nurse
Band 4 Dental Nurse – Community Dental Services
St Leonard’s Hospital, Inner North East London
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Band 4 Dental Nurse to provide high-quality care across Hackney, Tower Hamlets, and Newham within NHS Community Dental Services.
About the Role
You will join a vibrant team delivering a diverse range of dental services in clinical and community settings, including:
- Sedation Dentistry
- Special Care Dentistry
- Paediatric Dentistry
- Domiciliary care (home-based visits)
- Bariatric dentistry
- Mobile dental services (homeless units, medium secure facilities)
This peripatetic role requires you to be based primarily at an agreed clinic but capable of traveling across multiple dental sites in the Inner North East London (INEL) region.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver chairside assistance in complex clinical environments, including sedation and special care dentistry
- Provide high-quality customer service to patients and visitors
- Conduct domiciliary visits (including homeless shelters and mobile units)
- Organise dental kits and materials for community-based visits
- Undertake reception duties and support the broader dental team
- Ensure standardised practices across all sites, including compliance with:
- CQC regulations
- Dental Practice Inspections
- Health & Safety risk assessments
- SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
- Demonstrate leadership, independence and adaptability under pressure
