Job Description
Due to successful expansion, a new post has become available.
We are looking for a highly motivated, forward-thinking nurse to join our Integrated Diabetes Service, based in the community. Our team is committed to providing safe, effective, and compassionate complex diabetes care closer to home, while continually improving the quality of our services.
We are a small, friendly team seeking an approachable team player with experience and knowledge in diabetes who is eager to learn and develop further.
This role offers flexible working, including the opportunity to work from home one day per week in line with Trust policy and service needs. As a Diabetes Specialist Nurse (DSN), you will manage your own caseload with administrative support and have the flexibility to manage your own diary and appointments, with one fixed clinic day per week.
There is also an opportunity to train as a DESMOND educator and to undertake bank work delivering structured education sessions. This role would suit an experienced Diabetes Specialist Nurse looking for a new challenge or career progression, an experienced Practice Nurse wishing to specialise in diabetes, or a District Nurse or Acute Nurse keen to develop into a diabetes specialist development role.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
