School Community Engagement Officer
Location: Keighley, BD20, West Yorkshire
Salary:
- Actual annual: £9,560 to £9,731
- Full-time equivalent: £25,493 to £25,949
- Band 7, SCP 11 (dependent on length of service)
Hours: 15 per week (Term time only) Contract: Fixed-term (2 years), funded by RISE Start date: September 2026 Closing date: Friday 10 July 2026 at 9:00 AM
About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and approachable individual to join our pastoral and inclusion team as a Community Engagement Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to help strengthen relationships between a school, families, and the wider community, while supporting the development of a brand-new Community Hub.
Key Responsibilities
- Help develop the Community Hub as a welcoming space for families
- Build positive relationships with parents, carers, and the local community
- Organise events to encourage engagement in school life
- Support families who may require additional assistance
- Strengthen links with feeder primary schools and support transitions
- Signpost families to relevant services and opportunities
- Collaborate with pastoral and attendance teams to reduce barriers to engagement
- Promote the organisation within the local community

Requirements
We are looking for someone who:
- Enjoys building relationships and working with people
- Is warm, approachable, and compassionate
- Demonstrates strong communication and organisational skills
- Is proactive and able to work independently
- Is committed to inclusion, belonging, and community development
Desirable but not essential: Experience in schools, community work, youth work, or customer service.
