School Community Engagement Officer

Location: Keighley, BD20, West Yorkshire

Salary:

  • Actual annual: £9,560 to £9,731
  • Full-time equivalent: £25,493 to £25,949
  • Band 7, SCP 11 (dependent on length of service)

Hours: 15 per week (Term time only) Contract: Fixed-term (2 years), funded by RISE Start date: September 2026 Closing date: Friday 10 July 2026 at 9:00 AM


About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and approachable individual to join our pastoral and inclusion team as a Community Engagement Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to help strengthen relationships between a school, families, and the wider community, while supporting the development of a brand-new Community Hub.


Key Responsibilities

  • Help develop the Community Hub as a welcoming space for families
  • Build positive relationships with parents, carers, and the local community
  • Organise events to encourage engagement in school life
  • Support families who may require additional assistance
  • Strengthen links with feeder primary schools and support transitions
  • Signpost families to relevant services and opportunities
  • Collaborate with pastoral and attendance teams to reduce barriers to engagement
  • Promote the organisation within the local community

Requirements

We are looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys building relationships and working with people

Desirable but not essential: Experience in schools, community work, youth work, or customer service.
