TITLE: Community Facilitator (Child Protection)
TEAM/PROGRAMME: CPiE / Program Implementation
LOCATION: Thet Kay Pyin and Sittwe Office, Rakhine Area
Number of Position: 4
GRADE: NAT – 6
CONTRACT LENGTH: Fixed Term
CHILD SAFEGUARDING:
Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the vetting process staff.
ROLE PURPOSE:
The CP Community Facilitator will be responsible for carrying out activities that support the protection of children from violence, abuse, exploitation, and neglect through case management. The role of the CP Community Facilitator is to provide case management services in an appropriate, timely and systematic manner in accordance with the SOPs.
The key objectives of the Community Facilitator’s role is to:
- ensure girls, boys and those children identifying as non – binary with complex needs, who have been harmed or at risk of being harmed are identified and receive case management support through following the case management process of registration assessment, action planning, direct service provision, referrals and follow up. Documentation of the different steps in the process is essential.
- provide support to families to better care for and protect children.
- To work with other case management actors and service providers on safe referrals and management of caseload
SCOPE OF ROLE:
- Reports to: Project Assistant
- Staff reporting to this post: PSS Facilitators
- Budget Responsibilities: No Financial Approval
- Role Dimensions: Regular Contact of basic factual information
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY :
- Support line manager and co-facilitate in capacity building trainings to PSS Facilitator in project areas
- Support children and their families through the case management process (six steps: identification and registration, assessment, case planning, implementation of the case plan, follow-up and review, case closure).
- The caseworker will ensure quality case management services for girls, boys and those identifying as non-binary, children with complex needs, who have experienced or are at risk of violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation and/or meet the eligibility criteria defined in the SOPs.
- Conduct regular field monitoring visits, and supervise the PSS Facilitators
- Collaborate with other program staffs in terms of activities implementations and team works
- Prepare monthly work plans and activities plans with line manager and other team members in monthly basis
- Able to travel field locations daily/ weekly
- Work closely with camp-based committees and volunteers in terms of project activities implementation
- Support the PSS Facilitators in activities implementation and capacity development
- Activities related data collection, data entry and documentation and sending to MEAL team in timely basis
- Guide and support PSS Facilitator in developing work plans and training plans
- Report and refer any CP related cases/ concerns to relevant case worker/ case officer
- Report any CSG, COC or inappropriate activity/ behavior of supervisor in timely basis
- Take photo records of activities implementations and send to MEAL
- Take steps to ensure that the programme benefits the most vulnerable children in communities.
- Support line manager in meetings with key stakeholders in communities
- Any other duties and tasks assigned by supervisor.

- Take all necessary and appropriate steps to prevent abuse, exploitation, neglect, harm and modern slavery within their areas of responsibility, and in the way they conduct themselves, report and respond to all incidents and concerns whether online or in person, and comply with the Safeguarding Policy and Procedure.

QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree or equivalent experiences.
- Ability to read, write and communicating in English is preferable
- Ability to use Microsoft Word, EXCEL, Power Point, etc
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

- Demonstrated skills and experience in implementing child rights programming.
- At least 2 years of working experiences in child protection or protection related projects.
- Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles.
- High motivation to work with difficult circumstances.
- A commitment to children’s rights, children’s participation and non-discrimination.
- Experiences in community mobalization.
- Previous experience working for an NGO or other non-profit organization.
- Strong analytical skills and organization skills, ability to work independently and productively in a fast-paced environment and the ability to manage a multi-facetted workload.
- Solid communication skills and attention to detail.
- Flexible work attitude: the ability to work productively in a team environment & independently.
Skills and Experience:
- At least 2 years of working experiences in child protection or protection related projects.
Education:
- Bachelor Degree or equivalent education level
Communication and Technical Skills
- Excellent personal organisational skills, including time management, and ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Willingness to travel to field offices and work in difficult environment according to travel requirements
