Band 3 Community Healthcare Assistant Vacancy for West Dorset District Nursing Service
We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual with good communication skills and a passion for caring for patients in their own homes to join our friendly Beaminster team.
- Experience of clinical work in the community is desirable but training will be offered to the successful applicant.
There is an expectation that the successful candidate will undertake our in-house development program for extended skills which will involve insulin administration, administration of other injectables, catheterisation, and bowel care.
Under the supervision and support from the team you will be required to visit patients in their own homes providing clinical care. Working as a Healthcare Assistant within the District Nursing Team you will visit patients in their own homes providing clinical care, including wound care, phlebotomy, and extended skills once proficient.
- To undertake care, following the instructions of the team leader or nominated deputy according to the needs of the patients as identified on the care plan, providing evidence-based, high-quality, holistic nursing care for patients in their own homes and care homes

Employment Requirements:
- Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of.
- Following a review of our pre-employment checking process, with immediate effect the Trust has made the decision to no longer accept DBS checking and clearance through the DBS Update Service.
- Access to a car with a valid driving license is essential for this role. Subject to the provisions of the Equality Act, able to travel using own vehicle on Trust business.
- Please note visa sponsorship for this role is unfortunately not available. Ensure you hold valid right to work in the UK and will not require sponsorship if successful.
