Community Impact Manager
18-month Fixed Term Contract
London based (50% hybrid working)
Salary: circa £55,000
If you’re passionate about Aviva’s sustainability ambition and delivering positive social impact in your local community, here’s an exciting new opportunity. We’re seeking a driven self-starter, a networker, and a ‘doer’ who loves to make things happen and deliver as part of a team.
Aviva is a recognised leader in sustainability and social action but with a concerted focus on ‘Place’ we will strengthen, deepen, and amplify the impact we make. Working in partnership with local businesses, councils, and community groups to understand the issues in the locality and then bringing together the levers of change across Aviva, our charitable partnerships, colleague volunteering, propositions and investment, we will drive significant social action to address the needs of our local communities.
A bit about the job:
You will play a critical role in a team driving social action and developing a “Place Focussed” strategic direction. You will be the key driver for ‘Place’ in the locality, ensuring strategic alignment of activities, collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, mobilising colleagues, and activating the vision and strategy for that locality with the sponsorship and support of the Site Ambassador and Group Sustainability and Social Action Team. Deeply embedded in your local community you will direct Aviva’s Social Action activities, enabling the community and our people to be stronger and more resilient.
The role provides an amazing opportunity to learn and develop as a leader. You will be a passionate advocate for social action and ensure Aviva has a strong presence in the community to enable positive social impact to be delivered; create a Place focussed Social Action strategy and plan mapped against local need and Aviva’s Social Action Strategy Framework; convene the Aviva Local Place Taskforce from across Aviva teams to lead the implementation of the social action plan; connect with all site-based activity (incl. Inclusion, Diversity & Equity, Aviva Communities, Wellbeing Heroes etc), and work alongside Site Leads to spot opportunities for alignment and collaboration; and manage and develop the Business in the Community (BITC) relationship, working closely with local businesses, councils and community stakeholders to develop a shared view on local priorities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
