🌟 About Advance

An award-winning feminist charity since 1998, we empower women and girls to build safe, equitable lives. Our work falls into two core areas:

  • Trauma recovery & community support for survivors of domestic abuse.
  • Criminal justice transformation through radical, gender-specific interventions for women with short-term prison sentences or in probation supervision.

Our guiding values: ✔ Listen & Support — centring lived experience ✔ Empower & Respect — championing agency ✔ Collaborate — cross-sector partnership ✔ Innovate — daring to disrupt harmful systems ✔ Accountability — transparency & client-first practice

🔍 The Community Keyworker Imperative

Exactly what does this role look like?

We’re seeking a Dynamic Role Builder to transform women’s trajectories through the criminal justice system. You will:

  • Work in tandem with Anglia Probation Trust ( ومح ) and Magistrates’ Courts to mentor women released from prison (“Through the Gate” work) and those in community-based probation supervision.
  • Deliver holistic, take-no-prisoners support—emotional, practical, and advocacy-grounded within the UK Gendered Pathways model (a feminist, restorative corrective framework to reentry/reducing reoffending).
  • Operate within a solidarity-driven team across Oxfordshire/Berks/Bucks, integrating your expertise to create personalised recovery pathways that break cycles of abuse and punishment.
  • Bridge gaps by ensuring women access redirection toward trauma-informed care, therapy, employment, accommodation, and cultural/ethnic services where relevant.
  • Work at the intersection of violence prevention and justice—with a clear lens on how misogyny and systemic inequalities drive offending in women.

In short: Can you meet women where they are—in court exiles, hostels, or apartments—and raise their confidence to rewrite their stories?

💼 Core Responsibilities

🧂 Les Focal Points

  • Case management (probation support):
    • Formulate and monitor individualised action plans aligned with justice system goals (e.g., debt recovery, employment), while prioritising systemic change behind each breach.
    • Provide 1:1 and group-based encouragement to ensure adherence—not first due process, but whole-person wellness.
    • Liaise with probation officers, social services, and frontline courts to smooth justice system navigation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
