Are you ready to shape the future of data?
Matillion is the company behind Maia, the AI Data Automation platform.
In the AI economy, demand for data is exploding. Manual data engineering can’t keep up. Maia fixes that by combining 15 years of data expertise with agentic AI to eliminate the manual work that slows data teams down. Organisations like Cisco, DocuSign, and Slack are already using it to deliver real business impact, faster.
We started in Manchester and now we’re global - with teams across the UK, US and India.
We are driven, curious, energetic people who move fast, think big and hold ourselves to a high standard. We’re here to make a dent in the universe bigger than ourselves. And we’re looking for people who want to be part of it.
About The Role
Our community is one of our most powerful assets - a space where data professionals connect, ask questions, share knowledge and grow together. Right now, it needs a step change. We're looking for a Community Manager to take ownership of that transformation someone who can take what we have today and build something genuinely world-class.
This is not a passive, content-scheduling role. You'll be an organiser, a project manager and a driver of change. You'll modernise how our community looks and feels, lead the integration of AI into our community experience, manage a network of technical contributors and build the frameworks that keep everything running smoothly. If you're energised by community, comfortable with ambiguity and ready to own a project that has real visibility across the business, this is for you.
What You Will Be Doing
- Taking full ownership of the community strategy and roadmap - assessing what we have today, identifying what needs to change, and leading the evolution from a static platform to a dynamic, AI-enhanced community experience that our customers and technical teams want to engage with
- Managing and modernising our community platforms - including Discourse, our Ideas Portal, Stack Overflow and Reddit - ensuring branding, content and functionality are consistently up to date, and making front-end changes (HTML/JavaScript) to keep the experience sharp
- Building and managing a contributor schedule that brings Solution Architects, Technical SAs and engineers front-facing on community forums on a regular basis - you'll own the coordination that makes this happen consistently
- Leading the AI integration project for the community - researching options, collaborating closely with our AI Technical Lead and Metrics team, and owning the delivery of AI-powered features such as chatbots and enhanced search experiences
- Analysing community engagement data regularly to surface trends, define success metrics and make informed decisions that continuously improve the community experience for our B2B SaaS customer base

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We Are Looking For
- A strong background in community management within a B2B SaaS environment - you understand the types of questions technical customers ask and you know how to build a community that serves them well
- Project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams, manage contributor schedules and drive initiatives through to completion without losing quality or momentum
- Comfort with front-end web basics (HTML and JavaScript) enough to manage and update community platform styling and branding independently without always needing a developer
- A genuine curiosity about AI and how it can enhance community experiences - from chatbots to intelligent search, you're excited about what's possible and ready to own the project that gets us there
- Highly organised, data-driven and collaborative - you work well across teams, build trust with technical stakeholders and use engagement metrics to make the right decisions
