NHS Fife Community Mental Health Nursing Service
About the Role
NHS Fife’s Community Mental Health Nursing Service is seeking a motivated mental health nurse for the Community Mental Health Team Kirkcaldy.
Fife’s CMHT’s are undergoing innovative changes to the care and treatment for community-based secondary care patients. We are developing a comprehensive complex-trauma and personality disorder pathway in which we can deliver a skills-based approach through:
- Safe and Able to Cope
- Decider Skills
- Emotional Resources Group
We are planning the roll-out of Structured Clinical Management which will complete the pathway. Another significant development is the creation of Physical Healthcare Clinics offering:
- Clozapine
- Lithium
- High Dose Monitoring
- ADHD
- Eating Disorder health checks
We have embraced new technological approaches in the delivery of these, as well as continuing to deliver face-to-face interventions. The CMHT’s continue to provide quality evidence-based interventions for those experiencing major mental illness and disorder.
The post is based within our Kirkcaldy CMHT based in Whyteman's Brae Hospital. The diverse environmental and geographic features of the area really do mean that no two days are the same, where each day brings its’ own exciting challenges. Our CMHT’s use a multi-disciplinary assessment clinic that enables close professional MDT working.

The post holder will have day-to-day responsibility for managing their workload; assessment, care planning, evaluation, and delivery of care to patients presenting with a variety of mental health problems in both virtual and face-to-face settings.
Requirements
Applications for this post are invited from experienced RMN’s, able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of working with adults presenting with a range of mental health problems as well as a sound understanding of their physical health needs that can include prescribed treatment. As an enthusiastic mental health nurse you will join this service and will work within a multi-disciplinary team committed to partnership working with strong links to other secondary care and community services.
