About the Organisation

Shropshire Wildlife Trust (SWT) is committed to empowering more people to take action for nature across Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin. By encouraging small-scale behavioural changes in communities, we aim to drive meaningful shifts in society—ultimately fostering wildlife conservation, environmental sustainability, and improved public connection to nature.

With a vision of a thriving natural world, SWT manages:

  • Over 40 nature reserves
  • Almost 50 staff members
  • 300 volunteers
  • Over 9,000 members

Our work spans advocacy, projects, and partnerships to address the climate and ecological crises, while collaborating through The Wildlife Trusts (TWT) to extend our impact nationally and globally.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Community Officer who will:

  • Foster community engagement in Telford & Wrekin, particularly with under-represented groups
  • Build relationships with community groups, leaders, and champions
  • Support and deliver projects and events promoting access to natural spaces
  • Listen to voices in diverse communities to understand their experiences of nature, wildlife, and green spaces, identifying barriers and potential solutions
  • Gather and share insights, observations, and lived experiences to guide SWT’s strategic priorities

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
