My Trauma Is Chronic, But I Am Iconic!!™ C.I.C. (MTICBIAI) is a trauma-informed, lived-experience-led Community Interest Company supporting care and justice experienced individuals to build safer, stronger and more independent futures.

Role Purpose

The Community Outreach and Engagement Volunteer will strengthen MTICBIAI's relationships with communities, partners and stakeholders while ensuring community voices help shape our strategic priorities.

Working closely with the Policy, Strategy and Public Affairs Officer, you will:

  • Gather community insight
  • Build partnerships
  • Contribute to the development of policies, programmes and campaigns that reflect the needs of the people we serve

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent MTICBIAI within communities and at external events
  • Promote MTICBIAI's services, programmes and opportunities
  • Gather feedback and community insight to identify emerging needs and opportunities
  • Work with the Policy, Strategy and Public Affairs Officer to ensure community intelligence informs organisational strategy and policy
  • Support community consultations, engagement events and awareness campaigns
  • Identify opportunities for partnerships and collaborative working
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach and engagement activities

Person Specification

Essential Skills

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience engaging with communities or stakeholders
  • Confidence working with diverse communities
  • Experience building relationships with VCS organisations, civil society organisations and local authorities
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Passion for community empowerment and social justice
  • Commitment to confidentiality and MTICBIAI's values

Desirable

  • Build relationships with community organisations, charities, VCS organisations, local authorities and other stakeholders
  • Lived experience aligned with MTICBIAI's mission
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practice
  • Experience in community engagement, policy, advocacy or partnership working
