Exciting Opportunity for Mental Health Nurse’s (RMN)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for progressive and innovative Mental Health Nurse’s (RMN) to join the Perinatal Mental Health Team within NHS Fife Health and Social Care Partnership. This is a Fife Wide Service.
About the Role
The Perinatal Mental Health Nurse will focus on:
- Prevention, detection, early intervention care, and treatment of new or pre-existing mental illness occurring in women during pregnancy or in the first postnatal year.
- Providing pre-conception advice for women at high risk of severe postpartum mental illness.
- Providing assessment and facilitation of the mother-infant relationship and promoting infant development in the context of maternal mental illness.
- Acting as a Mental Health Liaison Nurse to the Wider Maternity service.
- Committed to partnership working and establishing strong working relationships.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, effective, patient-focused care to women experiencing mental health difficulties during the perinatal period.
- Exercise initiative and autonomy to anticipate and respond to the unpredictability of referrals and the complex demands they present.
- Provide learning for Peers, Student Nurses, Medical Students, and other Health Care Professionals.

Requirements
- Experienced RMN’s able to demonstrate enhanced skills, knowledge, and experience of working with patients presenting with a range of mental health problems.
- Significant Band 5 experience preferably in a community and/or a Perinatal setting.
- Experience of Team Working, a problem-solving/flexible approach, excellent communication skills, and continuing professional development.
- Commitment to partnership working with a range of stakeholders.
