Walsall Council – Community Reablement Officer
Role Information
- Reference: SS01726
- Pay Scale: G5 – £28,598 to £31,022 per annum
- Closing Date: 15th July 2026 (subject to early closure)
- Gender Restriction: This role is restricted to female applicants under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010. This is due to the genuine occupational requirement to build trusting relationships with vulnerable individuals who may prefer female support.

We are seeking a passionate and proactive Reablement Officer to join our Community Reablement Team. In this role, you will:
- Support individuals in their own homes to develop or regain skills for independent and fulfilling living.
- Work closely with the therapy team to provide personalised support.
- Contribute to ongoing reviews and progress monitoring.

Key Responsibilities
- Direct working with individuals in their homes to assess needs and deliver sensitive, person-centred reablement interventions.
- Collaborating with colleagues across health, social care, and therapeutic teams to ensure holistic support planning.
- Encouraging independence by empowering individuals to regain confidence in daily living.
- Documenting progress and directing referrals as needed.
- Upholding safeguarding responsibilities, ensuring vulnerable individuals are protected and supported.
