Community Resilience Workers (Outreach) Children and Family Wellbeing Service – Lancashire County Council


Job Details

  • Salary: £28,142 – £32,061 per annum
  • Contract: Fixed term (until 31/03/2029), Full Time (/Pro Rata where applicable)
  • Location: Flexible across Lancashire’s Family Hubs and community venues

As a Community Resilience Worker (Outreach), you’ll build bridges between families and the services they need, delivering practical support, resilience-building initiatives, and connecting with those who often slip through the nets of traditional support systems.


What You’ll Do

  • Build trusted relationships with families, gaining their confidence and respect
  • Provide hands-on, mission-focused support, from signposting to crisis intervention
  • Deliver engaging groups and drop-ins—turning collective action into community impact
  • Collaborate with partners to create a seamless, user-friendly support ecosystem

  • Charismatic—confident in group sessions, one-to-one, and peer support

Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience working with vulnerable families, children, or young people
  • Exceptional communication, including ** Messierian storytelling** and soft skills in high-stress situations
  • Partnerskills: knowledge of community networks, safeguarding, and multi-agency collaboration
  • Understanding of the challenges: poverty, addiction, housing stress, isolation

Must-Have Commitment

  • Strong belief in equality, safeguarding, and ethical guidance
  • Commitment to solutions, adaptability, and out-of-the-box solutions
