About the role

Are you passionate about using data and intelligence to make a real difference to the lives of Central Bedfordshire residents? Do you have the skills to identify emerging issues, support effective partnership working, and help keep communities safe? If so, find your greatness by joining us as a Community Safety Research Officer.

The Community Safety Service tackles a wide range of complex community safety issues, helping to reduce crime and disorder, address vulnerability, and make people feel safer. Working closely with our partners and communities, you will play a key role in ensuring that community safety activity is informed by accurate, timely, and actionable intelligence.

As a Community Safety Research Officer, you will provide intelligence-led products that support the Community Safety Team and its partners in tackling issues such as anti-social behaviour, fly-tipping, crime and disorder, serious violence, cuckooing, and exploitation. Using partnership data, you will identify trends, emerging risks, and hotspot locations to support early intervention, safeguarding, and coordinated problem-solving activity.

The role will involve producing a range of intelligence products and reports, including weekly briefings, tasking documents, and analytical reports to support operational and strategic decision-making. You will build strong relationships with internal services, neighbouring authorities, Bedfordshire Police, and other partner agencies to maximise opportunities for intelligence and information sharing.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
