Community Staff Nurse - Morecambe South District - Maternity Leave
Temporary Maternity Post in Community Nursing
Morecambe South District Nurses – 30 Hours/Week until August 2027
About the Role
Morecambe South District Nurses are seeking an enthusiastic, hard-working, and highly motivated staff nurse to join their evolving community nursing team in a temporary maternity post (September 2026 – August 2027).
The role provides an opportunity to work flexibly within a 24-hour patient care service, delivering high-quality support to patients with diverse medical conditions in their own homes and community settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide complex nursing assessments and develop tailored care programmes for patients and carers.
- Work collaboratively with:
- Health and social care professionals
- Voluntary sector organisations
- Informal carers
- Ensure service continuity by supporting the district nurses’ 24-hour shift coverage.
- Operate across fluctuating schedules, including weekends, evenings, and evenings shifts.
- Deliver patient-centred, high-quality care to promote independence, health improvements, and condition management.

Person Specification
- Essential:
- Hard-working, motivated, and patient-focused attitude.
- Exceptional communication and assessment skills.
- ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Full UK driving licence (essential for home visits).
- Preferred:
- Applications welcome from student nurses (due to qualify) and newly qualified staff nurses aiming for career development in community nursing.
